TECHNOLOGIES
At Kolya Desarrollos Renovables we are committed to renewable energies that come from clean and inexhaustible sources. Why is renewable energy so important?
Renewable energy contributes to a lower environmental impact and a reduction in global warming . The use of renewable energy reduces CO2 emissions very considerably and thus helps to curb climate change. Much of the CO2 emission that causes this global warming comes from power generation due to the use of non-renewable fossil fuels such as gas and coal.
At Kolya Desarrollos Renovables we work with Photovoltaic Solar Energy, Wind energy, Green hydrogen production by electrolysis, hybridization and energy storage.
Photovoltaic Solar Energy
Solar energy is that generated by the Sun and that travels through radiation to reach the Earth. It is a renewable energy which the human being intends to obtain efficiently for its use and exploitation through different technologies that have evolved over time.
This type of energy is inexhaustible and very abundant and therefore, in addition to being a renewable source, it is clean energy and represents an alternative to other types of non-renewable energy such as fossil energy or nuclear energy.

WIND POWER
Wind energy is the energy obtained from the wind. It is a type of kinetic energy produced by the effect of air currents. We can convert this energy into electricity through an electric generator. It is a renewable, clean energy that does not pollute and that helps to replace the energy produced through fossil fuels.
In order to produce and store the same amount of electrical energy, a wind farm needs less land than a photovoltaic energy field. It is also reversible, which means that the area occupied by the park can be easily restored to renew the pre-existing territory.
GREEN HYDROGEN PRODUCTION BY ELECTROLYSIS
Green hydrogen is produced from water and renewable energy. Obtaining by electrolysis from renewable sources consists of the decomposition of water molecules (H2O) into oxygen (O2) and hydrogen (H2).

HOW IS GREEN HYDROGEN OBTAINED?
STEP 1
STEP 2
STEP 3
STEP 4
During electrolysis, an oxidation-reduction reaction occurs. by effect of electricity.
HYBRIDIZATION
Hybrid energy systems are those that generate electricity from two or more sources, generally of renewable origin, that share the same connection point. Although the sum of the powers of the hybrid generation modules is greater than the evacuation capacity, the energy discharged can never exceed this limit.
TYPES OF ELECTRICAL ENERGY BY HYBRIDIZATION
The most common hybridization installations are the following:
Photovoltaic + Wind.
Photovoltaic + Hydraulic.
Hydraulic + Wind.
Thermosolar + Biomass.
ENERGY STORAGE
As the question itself indicates, it is the action of storing energy for later use. Generally this storage will be done by means of solar batteries . But first, let’s see some necessary questions to understand how solar energy is stored.
Solar batteries are made up of electrochemical cells. Its function is to transform stored chemical energy into electricity. It consists of a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and electrolytes.
This process is summarized in the following steps:
- During the day, the photovoltaic solar panel receives the sun’s radiation and transforms it into electricity, supplying it to the installation.
- The surplus energy is stored in the battery or batteries that the installation has to be used on days when there is no sun or during the night, as we have previously highlighted.
